Beverley Ann Day Castleberry, was born in Columbia, SC on September 12, 1946. She was one of thirteen children to the late Andrew and Eva Macon. She transitioned into eternal life on September, 5, 2020.
Beverley better known as ”Mickey” graduated from CA Johnson High School Class of 1965. She was an avid golf player while in high school. She attended Allen University after graduation.
Beverly worked at Good Samaritan Waverly Hospital before retiring from Baptist Medical Center after 31 years of service. She was a Radiology Technican .
Beverley was a lifelong member of Chappelle Memorial AME. She accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior at an early age while in attendance. She was instrumental both as a Missionary and on the Stewardess Board 1. She was also a member of the Gospel Choir, Contemporary Voices and the Assistant Director of the Youth Choir. She helped with the Christian Debs and Debutantes on the conference level.
Beverley was also affectionately known as “Nana” to many children she nurtured which was a passion of hers. She was a nurse and caregiver to many families. She loved to cook, read and dance,
Beverley was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Eva Macon; daughter, Robin Watford; siblings, Mervin Muhammad, Gertrude, Annie Bell, Bobby, Peter and Edmond Day and Harry Macon.
Beverley leaves to cherish her memory daughter Wanda Milligan of Decatur, GA; sons, Zimmie Day and Ernest Perkins of Columbia, SC; siblings, Paul Jamison, Larry, Minnie, Denise and Jerry Macon; grandchildren; Fhallen (Marvin) Brooks, Kallium, Beverley, Cleveland, Sevin, Justice, Zimmie Jr, Terrell and Ziandre of Columbia, SC; Weldon, Tracy and Seoul of Decatur, GA; 2 sisters-In-Law; Georgia Solone and Evon Day; 13 great-grandchildren; a special niece Stephanie Day; God children; Bryant Goodson, Tiffany Darby, Vernon Day, Valerie Chisholms and Catherine Turner; special children, Malichi and Nasiah Organge and a host of nieces, nephews , cousins and friends.
