Betty Jean Leysath

Betty Jean Leysath was born May 22, 1957 in Columbia, SC to the late Maxine and Charlie Leysath, Sr. She passed away at her home on September 2, 2021 in Columbia, SC.

She graduated from Eau-Claire High School in 1976. She was employed at Prisma Health Richland in the Environmental Service Department for 15 years and also worked at North Minishy Child Development Center for several years as a teacher’s assistant.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Maxine Leysath; father, Charlie Leysath; brothers, Charlie, Levi, Mack, Freddie and Wilson; two sisters, Frances and Debra Jean.

Betty is survived by her son, Kedrick Brown; four grandchildren, Keyashia Brown, Kendell Brown, Ahmir Jones and Maxine Brown; sisters, Ann Anderson, Elizabeth Leysath; brothers, Nathaniel Leysath and Robert Leysath and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
