Betty J. Roberts

Betty Jean Roberts-Sinkler was born November 9, 1948,  in Columbia, South Carolina, the beloved daughter of the late Daniel Bethel, Sr, and Evelyn Grant. She departed this earthly life on Sunday, May 17, 2026, in Columbia, South Carolina.

Betty was educated in the public schools of Richland County, in Columbia, South Carolina.  She was sweet, funny and full of wisdom.  She worked as cook at Kinder World Daycare until her health declined. 

She loved to cook and would feed everyone. She was always cooking and inviting others over to eat, it was her true ministry and gift from God. 

Mrs. Roberts-Sinkler was a dedicated member of Ridgewood Missionary Baptist Church where she attended faithfully until her health no longer allow her to physically attend.  She loved her Church and church family and raised her family in the same community where she had her beginning.

Though she is no longer physically with us, she has left a legacy of love to all those who loved and knew her.

In addition to her parents she preceded was preceded in death by her first husband, Caroline Roberts; son, Tony Roberts; and brothers, Daniel Jr., and James Bethel.

Betty leaves behind her loving  husband, Wilbert Sinkler; her loving daughter, Stacie Roberts; and sons, Calvin Roberts and Corey Roberts, all of Columbia, SC; caring bonus children, Anthony (Meka) Sinkler, Patrick (Tiara) Sinkler; caring sister, Sarah A. Roberts, devoted brother, Johnny (Judy) Bethel; eighteen (18) grandchildren; twenty-seven (27) great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss her, but rejoice that she is now with the Lord.
