Betty A. Rhodes-Williams

Betty Ann Rhodes-Williams was born August 8, 1957, in Columbia, South Carolina, the beloved daughter of the late Robert T. Rhodes, Jr. and the late Rosa Mae Wilson Rhodes.  She departed this earthly life on Monday, May 11, 2026.

Betty was educated in the public school system in Lexington County. She loved and shared many memories of her days attending Brookland Cayce High School. She worked several jobs but developed many friendships during her employment at the Days Inn, West Columbia where she worked in housekeeping.

She was a member of Genesis Church of God in Christ, Columbia South Carolina.   

Betty was affectionately known as “Betty Rho,” never met a stranger and was loved by so many. Family and friends, all knew that even though she was small in stature, she had no problem with “telling it like it is.”  Her favorite past-time was sharing laughs with the ones she loved, playing cards and feeding the neighborhood.           

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael Williams; siblings Eva Pearl Walker, Vera Rhodes, Robert Lee Rhodes and Clay Riley.    

Precious memories and a legacy of love are left to be cherished by her only son, Cory (Krystal) Rhodes of Columbia, SC; five bonus children, Michael Williams, Tywanda Williams, Veronica Williams, Alvin Rowe, and Danny Reese, all from Cayce, SC; one granddaughter, Deztani Burnett of Greensboro, NC; bonus granddaughter, Alayza Williams; three sisters, Janie Charley, Angela Williams, both of West Columbia, SC, and Teresa Riley, of Blythewood, SC; five brothers, Jerry Rhodes, of Lexington, SC, Robert (Daisy) Rhodes of Columbus, GA, Kenneth Riley of Charlotte, NC, Elder Fredrick (Diane) Riley, of Blythewood, SC and Darrel (Artelia) Stukes, of South Congaree, SC; one aunt, Ora Lee Rhodes, of Lexington, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives, and caring friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
