Barbara Lynn Lark Gibson was born on August 3, 1956, in San Bernardina, California, the beloved daughter of Mary Allen Lark and the late James Lark. She gained her glorified body on Monday, July 21, 2025, in Columbia, South Carolina.
Barbara was a proud graduate of W. J. Keenan High School, Class of 1974. She later continued her education at Midlands Technical College in Columbia, South Carolina.
Barbara's creativity shone through her work as a professional painter, specializing in portraits, murals, and nature scenes. She later became a licensed real estate agent in South Carolina and dedicated over 30 years to a successful career in finance.
More than anything, Barbara loved God, her family, and her friends. She was the heart of every gathering and was known for her warm hugs, infectious smile, and contagious laugh. She found joy in her grandchildren, baking, traveling, and leading an active lifestyle. Whether exercising, line dancing, or serving her community, Barbara lived life to the fullest and she will be missed by all those who loved and knew her.
In addition to her father, Barbara was also preceded in death by her brother, Edward Lark.
Barbara leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Lester Gibson; her children, Allen Gibson and Angel (LaRon) Hearst; two grandchildren, English Hearst and Skyler Hearst; her devoted mother, Mary A. Lark; her siblings, LaVonne Dickerson, Kathy Lark, and Jimmy Lark; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and dear friends, all of whom rejoice that she is now resting with the Lord.
