Arthur "Bobby" Searles, Jr.

Arthur “Bobby” Searles, Jr. was born December 12, 1947, in Plum Branch, South Carolina, the beloved precious son of the late Arthur Searles Sr. and Allean Mims Searles,   He departed this earthly life and answered the eternal call on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Grady Memorial Hospital, in Atlanta, Georgia.

Bobby was educated in the public schools of McCormick, County, graduating from Mims High School in the Class of 1966.  During his tenure at Mims he was a member of the baseball and basketball teams, and a school bus driver.

After graduating, Bobby continues his education at Area Trade Technical  School in Denmark, South Carolina where he received his certification as an occupational electrician.  Following school, Bobby relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, where he became a member of the IBEW Union as a certified electrician.  After becoming established in the electrical community, he established and operated S & H Electric Company, a legacy that is left, still in business today operated by his son. In 2002, Bobby along with his sister Daisy established “Brother & Sister Gospel Promotions”. The two of them were instrumental in promoting gospel artist across the county including Angelic Gospel Singers, and other well-known artist.

At an early age Bobby joined Pine Grove AME Church where he served as an Usher, Trustee, Class Leader, and a member of the Choir and Pulpit Aide.

In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Josephine Middleton Searles.

Bobby was a loving father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. Though he is no longer physically with us, his loving and kind spirit will forever live in the hearts and lives of all those who loved and knew him.

Those who are cherishing  his laughter, whit, kindness, loyalty and dry sense of humor are his  loving and devoted sons, Dedrick (Nataya) Middleton and Tristan (Ashleigh-Jade) Searles, both of Atlanta, GA; seven adoring grandchildren, Dedrick II, Trevon, Jordan, Jayce, Ashton-Leah, Tristan, Jr., and Ava, all of Atlanta, GA; his devoted and loving sister, Daisy S. Johnson of Plum Branch, SC; god sister, Tonya Cook who affectionately called him “Old Crow” of Blum Branch, SC; brother-in-law, Robert Middleton; sisters-in-law, Jeanetter Garner and Juanita Middleton; a loyal cousin, Barry Briggs of Fayetteville, NC; special friend, Brenda Chiles of Atlanta, Ga; and a host of cousins, and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss him.
