Archie Sims Jr. attended public schools in Prosperity. At an early age he found his calling as a singer. He was one of the lead singers in the gospel group The Golden Harmonairs and wrote many of their songs such as “Carry The Bible With You” and “I Been On This Journey”, just to name a few. On April 4, 1963, he married the love of his life, Ms. Louvenia Suber. Out of that union were three children: Sandra, Linda, and Reginald
Archie was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. For many years, he worked and retired at Pacific Mills which later became Spring Mills. He was preceded in death by his brothers Cleophus “Tank” Sims and Richard Clarence Sims and his daughters Sandra Hinton and Linda Sims.
He leaves to cherish his memories: a wife, Louvenia Sims of Columbia, SC; two sisters: Martha Sims of Prosperity, SC and Mary Sims of Prosperity, SC; one son Reginald “Reggie” L.
