Brother Anthony Griffin was born March 12, 1960, in Columbia, South Carolina, the beloved son and one of five children born to the late Thomas B. Griffin Sr., and Flossie Mae Williams Griffin. He departed this earthly life for eternal life with the Lord on Monday, April 6, 2026 at PRISMA Health Richland Medical Center in Columbia, South Carolina.
Anthony was educated in the public schools and Technical Institutes of Richland County. He was employed with the City of Columbia.
Brother Griffin was baptized in Jesus Name and received the gift of the holy ghost. He was a member of the Progressive Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Inc. Sumter and Columbia Congregations where he attended faithfully and regularly until his health declined.
Brother Griffin loved to shop and will be remembered for his impeccable style. He was truly a sharp dresser.
Though he is no longer physically with us, he has left his love for God, and his love for family and friends that will be cherished by all those whose lives he so lovingly touched.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Flossie Roberta Griffin.
He leaves to cherish fond and precious memories, his son, Antonio Griffin Young; granddaughter, Ava Young; caring brothers, Thomas (Julie) Griffin, Jr. of Roseville, MN, and David P. (Sherri) Griffin of Chicago, IL; loving sister, Jacqueline (Thomas) Washington of Columbia, South Carolina; caring half-sister, Thomasine Brown of Bethune SC; a host of nephews, nieces and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom as sadden by his departure, but rejoice that he is resting with the Lord.
