Anthony K. Thompson

Anthony Keith Thompson was born February 19, 1959, in Columbia, South Carolina, the beloved son of Claretha T. Rivers.  He departed this earthly life on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, in Columbia, South Carolina.

Anthony was educated in the public schools of Richland School District One where he was a graduate of Eau Claire High School.  He was formerly employed with Consolidated Systems, Inc. and Pepsi Bottling Group of Columbia.

Anthony was a member of Jehovah Baptist Church of Columbia where he attended with the Mother.

Though he is no longer physically with us, he has left a legacy of love to all those who loved and knew him.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Thelma Rivers.

Those who are cherishing fond and precious memories of Anthony are his loving mother, Claretha T. Rivers; his wife, Betty Thompson; daughters, Brittney Ramsey and Keara Thompson; five grandchildren; all of Columbia, SC; sisters, Barbara (Harvey) McFadden of New York, Johnnie Murphy, Gloria Rivers, Mary Jacobs and Donna (Alan) R. Mims, all of Columbia, SC; brothers, Trent Thompson and Jason Rivers, both of Columbia, SC; a host of nephews, nieces and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss him.
