Anthony W. Barr, Sr. was born November 14, 1958, in Columbia, South Carolina. He was the son of Ms. Betty L. Casey and the late Mr. James A. Barr. He transitioned from his earthly body on Monday, May 19, 2025.
Anthony was educated in the public schools of Richland County and graduated from Spring Valley High School.
As a young boy he learned Ceramic Tile setting skills from his father, who was a master title setter by trade. After advancing in tile setting himself, he went on to become a salesman of tile products for many years. During his early years of building his craft, through a close friend, he met on the campus of The University of South Carolina a beautiful young lady that he would later go on to marry and build his most cherished accomplishment with, his matrimonial family.
Anthony Barr Sr. never strayed from his personal beliefs of working hard at all that he was passionate about. He continued to step into the many titles that he carried as he grew and experienced life. He found solace in the sacrifices that he made for the betterment of those that he treasured. The simple pleasures of watching the USC Gamecock games, old western movies, and the array of precious memories with his family always was enough to motivate and comfort him.
Left to cherish and carry on his legacy are his wife, Mrs. Winda’ Barr of Charlotte, NC; two children, Miss Tiffany K. Barr of Greensboro, NC and Mr. Anthony W. Barr II of Charlotte, NC; loving mother, Ms. Betty L. Casey of Columbia, SC; two brothers, Mr. James P. Barr and Mr. Kris K. Barr, both of Columbia, SC; a host of cousins, extended nephews, aunt(s), uncle(s), and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will continue to hold fond and precious memories of the times they had with him.
