Alvin Earl Dykes, affectionately known as “Boo Dykes” was born February 10, 1956 in Bishopville, SC to the late Carolyn Lucille White. He departed this life on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Prisma Health Richland.
Alvin attended C.A. Johnson High School and graduated in 1974. He worked for Allied Chemical Company and Just Care Correctional for many years until his retirement.
Alvin joined Progressive Church at an early age and was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, according to Acts 2:38 and was filled with the gift of the holy ghost.
Alvin was known for driving luxury cars and taking pride in washing them almost every day, he also had the best “Shiney Tires Ever”. Alvin touched many lives by his smiles and conversation. He loved being around his family and friends. Alvin loved calling you on the phone and saying “whatcha doing”, “did you cook today” and “fix me a plate lol”
Alvin was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
Alvin was predeceased by his mother, Carolyn White and a brother, Robert Lee Dykes.
Left to cherish his fond and precious memories are, his son, Alvin Dykes, Jr of Greenville, SC; daughters, Alvisha (Kenneth) Ruff and Kiara Milledge of Columbia, SC; four grandchildren, Jahki Jaymes Dykes of Greenville, SC, Kamari, Kenadi and Kyla Ruff of Columbia, SC; brother, Edward Dykes; sister, Vivian (Tyrone) Cahoun; step-sister, Brenda White, Thomasina Mayby; step-brother, Ellis White; nieces, Siedah Dykes, Destiney Dykes, Whitney Dykes; nephews, Shantu (Jazime) Dykes, Jashon Dykes, Hiram Dykes; uncle, Drink Smalls; loving aunts, Pearl Ketter, Minnie Dykes, Thelma Dykes, Doris Dykes; special brothers, David Waston, Norman Moore and Wade Jenkins and a host of other loving relatives and friends whom will miss Alvin dearly.
