Alice Kinder Obituary

Alice Mae Jones Kinder was born on Thursday, May 17, 1956 in Fairmont, North Carolina and was the fourth child born to William Edward Jones and the late Martha E Thompson Jones Mouzon.  She was called home on Wednesday, March 11, 2020.

She was predeceased by two brothers:  William Jones and Edward Jones; and one daughter: Conita Jones.

Alice received her formal education in the public schools of Fairmont, North Carolina.  She went on later to receive her GED from County Schools, Inc in Bridgeport, CT, while simultaneously receiving her Certified Nursing Assistance certificate from the same school on September 21, 1990. 

She married the love of her life, Clyde N Kinder on May 17, 2010, which was also her birthday, in Columbia, South Carolina.  Alice’s earlier work was at Jomar Plastics for 10 years.  However, after receiving her Certified Nursing Assistance certification, she worked for several facilities throughout New York, Connecticut and South Carolina and was loved by the patients she took care of because of her gentle voice and kindness.  She said that taking care of sick people and the elderly was her calling. 

Alice loved her family and always wanted to keep the family together.  care of sick people and the elderly – she said that that was her calling.

She leaves to cherish her memories loving her husband:  Clyde N, Kinder; two devoted children: Jerriott Jones; one daughter:  Temersa (Mark) Shuman; two sisters: Doris Hayes of Augusta, GA; Teresa Jones of Columbia, SC; three godchildren:  Conita Jones; Asia (Emma) Jenkins; Autumn Harvey; one brother-in-law:  Levi (Glennie) Stoudermire; three sister-in-laws:  Felicia Blanding of Manning, SC; Barbara K Nicholls of Branford, CT; Sharon Taylor of Brandon, FL; one aunt: Christine Johnson of White Plains, NY; six grandchildren:  Aaron Cody; Allison Cody; and Anthony Cody; Aaliyah Jones; Dominique Jones; and Tayshawn Scelia; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
