Alfred Bickley entered this life on June 21, 1951 and departed this life on January 20, 2021. He was the son of Joseph Johnson and Azzle Bickley. He was the father of one son and the father to a son from another father and a girl he considered to be his daughter.
Alfred attended school in Richland, County. He was an avid reader; his hobby was oil and charcoal painting. At one time he had a short career in boxing. He worked for a while at the Columbia Farms but most of his work consisted of being a brick layer laborer.
Alfred was a big man with an even bigger heart. He never turned down or away anyone he thought he could help. He was very loyal to his friends and very protective of his nieces and nephews. Conversations he had were about his sisters. Alfred Bickley, gone too soon.
Alfred was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Johnson; mother, Azzle Bickley and two siblings.
He is survived by two sisters, Betty J. Bickley of Columbia, SC and Yvonne Bickley Cooke of Lugoff, SC; he was uncle Alfred to Yinka R. (Ervalee) Jacobs, mother to two step children, of Laurens, SC. Simone S. Bickley of Alabama. He was grand uncle to Eman D. (Kim) Bickley, Step mother to three children, Jada K. Bickley, mother of three, Keosha Cooke and Yachi Cooke (mother of three) of Lugoff, SC. Terry T. Bickley (father of two) of North Carolina, and Kevin Cooke (father of two) of columbia, SC and great grand uncle to a host of nieces and nephews, a special family friend Lafonda Bostic and other living relatives.
