Addie Louise Richmond was born on February 26, 1951, in Columbia, SC, the daughter of the late John and Anna Fair Williams. Addie departed this life on Saturday, April 6, 2024, peacefully at her residence in Chapin, South Carolina.
Addie was educated in the public schools of Richland County, and was a graduate of C. A. Johnson High School, Class of 1969. She furthered her education at Midlands Technical College where she majored in Health Services. She was employed with the Department of Mental Health for 30 years, and Babcock Center for over 10 years. She retired in 2016 after more than 40 years of dedicated service in the Health Care field. Addie enjoyed her work at DMH, but thoroughly enjoyed her retirement over the past seven (7) years, relaxing with and spending time with her family and friends.
At an early age, Addie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and became a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church (College Place). She enjoyed fishing, cooking, and traveling to Cherokee, North Carolina. Addie was a humble servant of God and loved serving her community, family, and friends. She was a kind and compassionate person who was always willing to help others. She lived by Psalms 23, and Ephesians 3:17, and taught her daughters these scriptures early in life. Addie never wavered in her faith or her commitment to her family. She will be sorely missed by all those who loved and knew her.
In addition to her parents, Addie was preceded in death by her husband, Sgt. Stanley Terry Richmond; brother, Bernard Mosby; and sisters, Geraldine Kennard, and Esther Anderson.
