Wilma Jean Butler was born on September 1, 1951 to the late Albert Moorer and Alean Mazyck in Cincinnati Ohio.
Wilma possessed a love for God at an early age and was baptized. Wilma thoroughly enjoyed missionary work. She attended Bethel Institute in New York, New York where she developed her desire to embody the scripture of 2 Timothy 2 in 15.
Wilma married James Butler Sr. on December 25, 1981 and from that union, birth 3 children whom she loved dearly.
Wilma worked in the medical field for at least 30 years. She was employed by Long Beach Medical Center in Long Beach New York where she possessed a stellar work ethic and was highly respected. Upon moving to South Carolina, she became an integral part of her family owned business where she lovingly served the community and made history becoming the first black owners of the establishment.
Wilma was a loving wife and mother who was kind to everyone she encountered. Wilma enjoyed witnessing happiness and joy in others. She loved to laugh and spend time with her family.
Those left to cherish Wilma's beautiful memories are her two daughters, Alicia and Jamie Butler of Columbia South Carolina, one son James Leroy Butler Jr. of Columbia South Carolina. Three sisters Janette Jennings, Patricia Moorer, and Paula Whetfell (Kermit) and a host of nieces nephews loving cousins and great friends.
