Vivian Wilhelmenia Grayson Wilson was born in Columbia, South Carolina on March 23, 1954. She was the daughter of Mrs. Minnie Mae Diamond Bailey. Viv, as she was lovingly called, was reared in the home of her maternal grandparents, Irene Diamond Grayson and Matthew Grayson. She passed at home surrounded by her faithful and loving family on July 2, 2019.
Viv attended the Richland County District One public schools, graduating in 1971 from A. C. Flora High School. She was married to Willie Jerome Wilson, Sr. and was a homemaker.
Viv was a member of New Ebenezer Baptist Church and attended until her health began to fail. She loved to cook, play bingo and care for her family. She was a very private person with a sweet disposition.
Viv was preceded in death by her mother, Minnie Bailey; brother, Leroy Hayes, Jr.; and grandparents, Irene and Matthew Grayson.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Willie Jerome Wilson, Sr.; two sons, Willie , Jr. and Brian both of Columbia, SC; six grandchildren; an adopted aunt, Vivian Delores Tyler; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will dearly miss her.
At Viv’s request no funeral services will be held.
