Ulysses Smith III Obituary

heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to skill and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up.                                 Ecclesiastes 3:1-3

Ulysses Smith III was born on July 30, 1990 to the late Carlene Zeigler and Ulysses Smith, Jr.  Ulysses departed this life on August 5, 2018.

Ulysses Smith III, fondly known as Boomer, attended school in Richland County School District One.  He graduated from Lower Richland High School in 2008.  After graduating, he began working as a sub-contractor for Master Care, Food Lion and later transferred to the V. A. Hospital as a medical transport.

As a youth, Ulysses was a member of True Believers Church of Our Lord and Savior.  He was baptized in the name of Jesus and served on the youth choir.  Ulysses, better known as Zoe Blacc to his peers, found his love for music in 2009.  He began at an early age creating beats that many loved.  As a result, he became locally known and respected as a songwriter and producer to numerous local artists in the Columbia area.  We will remember him most by his music and his enormous talent, as well as his affectious smile that could illuminate any room.

Ulysses was predeceased in death by his loving mother, Carlene Zeiger and his grandfather, Carl Zeigler.

Ulysses Smith, III leaves to cherish his fond memories his father, Ulysses (Nichelle) Smith, Jr.; His 3 siblings Shakia Zeigler of North Carolina; Tremanessa (Ken) Igboka of Columbia; Myasia Graham of Florence, SC; two adopted sisters, Patricia Yarborough and Crystal Yarborough of Columbia, SC; a host of uncles, aunts, nephews and friends that he loved and cherished deeply.
