Stafone was born in the midst of love. Everyone loved him and fed him and made him believe he was the King of the World. And he was…King of the Eikners, Hawkins, Greens, Jeffersons, DeLyons and many others…worlds.
On October 27, 1967 Stafone Brevard Jefferson was born to Alvin Russell and Emma Jeanett Jefferson in Columbia, South Carolina. He was spiritually raised in the Second Nazareth Baptist Church, Emmanuel AME Church and the Bibleway Baptist Church of Atlas Road. Educated in the Richland County School District, he graduated from of A. C. Flora High School in 1985 and was a lover of the sport; football. He started playing Pop Warner coached by his father and went on to play for the Clemson Tigers of Clemson University. He also attended South Carolina State College in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
Stafone was easy going, he spoke calmly and was a good listener. He stayed in peace and those rare moments where he was not…the love was still there. Stafone believed in taking care of business and family. He worked two jobs for over 25 years to ensure his house and children were cared for. He had a special passion for caring for the disabled and special needs population and worked over 25 years at Babcock Center, the Rice Estates and the Department of Mental Health.
On June 3, 2000 he married Tyra Latrease Fleming at the Second Nazareth Baptist Church in Columbia, South Carolina.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Tyra, two sons Tevin Brevard, Jayden Brevard, daughter Jania Brianna, one god daughter, Nicole Seibles and his brother Kevin Emilio. His parents, grandmothers; Victoria Eikner, Earlene Jefferson, great aunts; Elizabeth DeLyons, Doris Goodwin, Benzenia Coleman, Lizzie Hawkins, and Great Uncle Roy Hawkins. A host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters and brother in laws, mother and father in law, neighbors, friends and best friends Kenny Seibles and Chris Thompson, who have shared many adventures together.
Good Night Staf, we will see you in the morning!
