Sarah Louise Anderson, affectionately called “SISTER” by both family and friends was the Third of Twelve children born to Mr. Herbert Smalls, Sr. and Mrs. Janie Lou Smalls in Springfield, South Carolina. She was born on December 23rd, 1949 and entered into eternal rest on November 20th, 2019.
At an early age she joined the St. James AME Church on Wheeler Hill. Later in life she gave her life to Christ and was ordained into ministry at Grace and Truth Christian Center. She later attended and was a faithful servant at North Star Christian Center. She was a faithful servant of Christ for over 30 years.
She attended the public schools of Richland County. After graduation, she worked for the Richland County Hospital and later attended Rutledge College and Midlands Technical College’s Continuing Education Program and received her Certification as a Phlebotomist. She went on to become a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked for The Brian Center of St. Andrews for over 30 years until her retirement in 2014.
In 1969 she married the love of her life Mr. William “Boot” Anderson. Their union lasted for 50 years. From this union they had four children, two daughters Ms. Rosalyn R. Anderson, Ms. Tresa L. Anderson, two sons Mr. William A. Anderson, and Mr. Robert E. Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her son, Mr. Robert E. Anderson, her father, Mr. Herbert Smalls, Sr., two brothers, Mr. Herbert “Bubba” Smalls, Jr., Mr. Robert “Bobby” Smalls and two sisters, Mrs. Darlene “Dimples” Smalls, and Mrs. Shirely Smalls Karriem.
She is survived by her husband Mr. William Anderson, her daughters Ms. Rosalyn Anderson, Ms. Tresa Anderson, all of Columbia, SC., her son William (Susan) A. Anderson, 1 grandchild Miss. Kennedy S. Anderson of Blythewood SC. Her mother, Mrs. Janie L. Smalls, two sisters Ms. Janie M.
