She was born October 14, 1937 in Crenshaw, Mississippi to the late Clemmi D. Smith and Ophelia Smith-Parker.  In 1955 she was married to Harry Robinson Jr.  Their love story began when her older brother James and Harry were serving in the Air Force, stationed in the state of Washington. From this encounter, they produced 5 children with years of traveling and new adventures. She is preceded in death by her husband Harry of 48 years and her sister Ruby Smith.

Ruby received her formal education from the public schools in Portland, Oregon.  Her career began as a military wife and traveling homemaker.  She later worked outside the home as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Her hobbies included church activities, gardening, sewing, shopping for shoes and hand bags, cooking, hosting family functions, traveling, some good storytelling, talking and enjoying a good laugh.
