Robert Jackson Jr., affectionately known as “Bob” was born June 2, 1944. He was the son of Rosa Bell Gay Jackson and the late Robert Jackson Sr. of Gadsden, South Carolina.
Robert attended the public schools of Richland County School District #1 and was a 1965 graduate of Hopkins High School. He was employed by Fort Jackson Army Base and retired as a civilian employee.
Robert was baptized at an early age at St. Mark Baptist Church. Later in life, he transferred his membership to the Red Hill Baptist Church where he served on the Missionary Society and the Brotherhood Ministry. He was a quiet, gentle and easy-going person. He was always willing to lend a helping hand when he saw the need.
“Bob” had a love for traveling. He was always very enthusiastic about his trips with the churches and the “Golden and Proud” senior group.
Robert was united in Holy Matrimony to Jeanett Lovett Jackson whom he shared many wonderful years.
Robert was predeceased by his father Robert Jackson Sr. and his brother John Jackson.
Those left to cherish fond and precious memories are his loving and devoted wife, Jeanett Lovett Jackson of the home; daughter, Angela (Darian) Anderson of Lexington, SC, two grandchildren, Darian and Ashlynn Anderson; his loving mother, Rosa Bell Gay Jackson, brothers; Odell(Delilah)Jackson, Albert (Reather) Jackson, Harry(Mary) Jackson, Eddie Jackson; sisters; Mamie Jackson and Teresa Jackson, sisters-in-laws; Leola Jackson, Helen(William)Moore, Gale(Willie)Coats, Rosa Bonaparte, Barbara(Richard)Gibson, brothers-in-law; Arthur Lovett, Ronald Lovett, Tony(Debbie) Lovett, Donald Lovett and Curtis Jones; aunt, Lucy Jackson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom will miss him dearly.
