Rhonda S. Cofer

On September 14, 2019, Heaven gained another angel, when Rhonda Samuel Cofer “Cheetah”, entered into rest at Prisma Health Richland.

Rhonda Samuel Cofer was born in Cola, SC on April 18, 1961 to the Essie Gresham and the late Thomas Samuel.  Rhonda attended Richland County public schools.  She graduated from Cola High School and Waverly School of Beauty. 

At an early age she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at Countsville AME in Chapin, SC.  She worked at Service Merchandise and Pizza Inn.

She enjoyed time with family and friends, traveling, and especially watching the cooking channels and Westerns.

She met the love of her life 30 years ago in Columbia, SC. She became engaged and married on September 21, 1990.  To this union, a daughter and son were born.

She leaves to forever cherish her memory: a loving and devoted husband, Timothy L. Cofer, Columbia, SC; daughter, Shelby Lanita Cofer, Columbia, SC; son Timothy Shelton Cofer, Japan; two stepchildren Diron Roberts and Whitley Jackson, both of North Augusta, SC; parents Essie and Jerrell Gresham, Columbia, SC; siblings Darnell Samuels, Irmo, SC; Joe (Linda) Bynum, Las Vegas, NV; Thomas (Felecia) Samuel, Virginia Beach, VA; Valencia (Raymond) Keeler, Columbia, SC; and Kimberly Samuel, Columbia, SC; Bartisha Watkins, Columbia, SC; mother-in-law, Rosa J.Cofer, North Augusta, SC; sisters-in-law, Rosalyn Yarbrough, Brenda Cofer, both of North Augusta, SC; Gwendolyn (Calvin) Patterson, Atlanta, GA; two brothers-in-law, Leonard (Mary) Cofer, Atlanta, GA; Kirk (Sara) Cofer, North Augusta, SC; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
