Phyllis Ada Love was born on Wednesday, January 15, 1964 to Rapha and Inez Johnson in Syracuse, New York. On Monday, July 16, 2018, Phyllis went to be with the Lord.
Phyllis graduated from Bryant and Stratton College in 1987 and two years later married Command Sergeant Major Michael F. Love Jr. and soon after, the military family was stationed at Fort Drum, New York; Fort Bragg, North Carolina and various other military installations.
Phyllis was a devoted military wife who supported her husband’s 30 years of military service, as a team serving together. Phyllis was a member of numerous military family support groups in which she assisted military families, especially during the unit’s deployment. In 2005, Phyllis was honored for her contributions to military families and received the prestigious Doctor Mary E. Walker Award.
In 2009, the military brought Phyllis and her family to Columbia, South Carolina, where she worked as a Housing Manager on Fort Jackson. Later in 2009 after joining Daniel Circle Chapel, she became a member of the Daniel Circle Gospel Choir; Praise Team (she loved to sing); and was a proud member of the Daniel Circle Throne Room Ministry (she loved to pray).
In 2012, Phyllis and Michael retired from the military and Phyllis continued her favorite career as being a loving wife, mother and friend to her adoring family. Phyllis’ outward beauty was surpassed only by her inward beauty in her love for God, family and absolute zeal for life.
Phyllis is survived by her loving husband of 30 years Michael Fredrick Love Jr. of Blythewood, SC; beloved daughter Nicole Love and son Harrison Love of Blythewood, SC; Parents, Rapha Johnson and Inez Johnson of Syracuse, NY; sisters, Patricia Johnson of Ellicott, MD, Jean Johnson of Syracuse, NY, Val Thomas and brother, Rapha Johnson Jr. of Atlanta, GA. She is also survived by many relatives and dear friends.
Phyllis brought Godly encouragement and joy to all till her last breath and will surely be missed by everyone who knew her.
