Myrtis Robinson

Mrs. Myrtis Robinson was the daughter of the late Bessie P. Frederick and Azell Kennerly. She was born May 29, 1932 in Orangeburg County, Norway, South Carolina. She entered into eternal rest at the Heartland of Columbia Rehabilitation & Nursing Center.

At an early age, she joined the Bushy Pond Baptist Church. She later moved to New York City where she joined the Greater University Baptist Church in Bronx, NY. When she moved back to Columbia she attended the Gunter’s Chapel Baptist Church.

While in New York, Ms. Robinson was the owner of Robinson Restaurant, where she did what she loved most, cooking.

She was united in holy matrimony to John H. Robinson Sr., who preceded her in death. They were married for forty years.

She later started her work as a foster mother and caregiver until her health failed. She loved taking care of people, especially children.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Mrs. Myrtis Robinson leaves to cherish her precious memories: sisters: Vera Lucas and Eunice Sauls of Columbia, SC, and Loretta Calhoun of Orangeburg, SC; one brother in law: Reverend Edward S. (Edwina) Robinson of Cleveland, TN; one sister in law: Ursula Frederick of Worcester, MA; one aunt: Blondell Prophet of Wilmington, DE; one uncle: Gary Prophet of Springfield, SC; and a host of loving 14 nieces, 6 nephews, 13 great-nieces, 19 great-nephews, 11 great-great nieces, 10 great-great nephews, cousins, and other relatives, all of whom will miss her dearly.
