Mary Angela Scott

Mrs. Mary Angela “Angie” Wright Scott was born July 20, 1961 in Columbia, South Carolina. She was the beloved daughter of the late Mrs. Lucille Oree Derrick and the late Mr. Ernest Wright.  She departed this earthly life to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at her home in Eastover, South Carolina.

Angela attended the public schools of Richland County and was a graduate of C.A. Johnson High School, Columbia, South Carolina.  She was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Eastover, South Carolina where she served faithfully until her health declined. She was an active member of the Inspirational Choir and served as an Assistant Clerk.

She worked for the Square D/ Schneider Electric Company of Columbia, South Carolina as a Production and Supply Associate for many years.  She also was employed with the Richland County Coroner’s Office as an Administrative Assistant and Belk Department Store as a Sales Associate. Angela was never a stranger to anyone she met and enjoyed being with her co-workers, family and friends. She was as spirit giving person and loved helping others.

She leaves to cherish her most precious memories her loving and devoted husband Karl L. Scott of Eastover, South Carolina; two sons Karl “KJ” Scott, Jr. of Eastover, South Carolina and Bryant Wright of Columbia, South Carolina; two daughters Khelsey Scott and Karla Scott of Columbia, South Carolina; two grandchildren, Kammie Wilson and Lovell Riley of Columbia, South Carolina; her father and mother in law, McKinley (Susanna) Scott, Jr. of Eastover, South Carolina; sisters Izetta Wright, Miriam (Ernest) McFadden and Lorraine Williams all of Columbia, South Carolina; brothers, Ernest (Vickie), Clifford, Timothy (Peggy), and Curtis(Cynthia) Wright of Columbia, South Carolina;  sisters-n- law Wanda Scott-Kinney and Edward (Loretta) Scott of Eastover, Bernice G. Scott of Hopkins, South Carolina; brothers-n-law, William (Linda) Scott and Norman Scott of Eastover, South Carolina and Marion Scott of Bronx, New York; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Angela was preceded in death by brothers Robert and Tyrone Wright; sisters, Lillie and Lucille Williams and Alicia Wright.

Sadly missed along life’s way, but will be quietly remembered every day. No longer in our life to share but etched deeply in our hearts forever. Rest in peace!
