Mrs. Marjorie Newton Tyler, was born, August 10, 1941 in Jasper County, South Carolina to the late Mr. Gus Newton Sr. and Mamie Lee White Newton.
She attended Mt. Moriah in Pineland, South Carolina at an early age, where she was a loyal member serving in various capacities. She attended Lake View School in West Columbia, South Carolina, and was very hard working. She worked at the University of South Carolina and Allied Chemical Plant. She enjoyed praying, fishing, cooking, and spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by a son, James Robert Brazzell, and a brother, Gus Newton Jr.
Mrs. Marjorie “Big Marj” Newton Tyler leaves to cherish her memories: 7 daughters all of Columbia, Alzena Dessaure, Elizabeth Govan, Sheila (Leroy) Lyles, Glenna (William) Gilmore, Pastor Elder Beverly (Jeffery) Williams, Sandnell Tyler, and Catrina L. Tyler; three sons: John C. Brazzell, Jerome (Kimberly) Brazzell, and Mark Brazzell, all of Charlotte, North Carolina; one Godson: Lewis Profit of Columbia, SC; one sister-in-law: Laura Mae Newton of Columbia, SC; 52 grandchildren, 62 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends. Mrs. Marjorie “Big Marj” Newton Tyler will be missed dearly and always remain in our hearts.
