Marilyn Lyles Obituary

Ms. Marilyn Lucille Brown Lyles, born in Columbia, SC, September 15, 1944, to the late Mr. Colie Blease Brown and Mozell Williams Brown.  She slipped away from us on the morning of January 3, 2020, at PRISMA Health Richland Hospital.

Ms. Marilyn attended C.A. Johnson High School Columbia, SC.  After which she was employed as a Nursing Technician with the Old Columbia Hospital, Columbia, SC and later at the Moncrief Army Hospital, Ft. Jackson, SC.  She was married to the late Jessie James Lyles, Sr.  Years later she lived a Common Law Marriage union with the late Arthur James Canada.

Ms. Marilyn accepted the Lord and became a member of the 2nd Nazareth Baptist Church early in her lifetime.  She enjoying serving others, and her home was a place where neighborhood children were loved and found the comfort of motherly love.  She enjoyed playing BINGO. 

Ms. Marilyn was preceded in death by her baby Sister Sandra Joyce Brown Bowman, and a Grandchild Blease Capers Brown.

Ms. Marilyn leaves to mourn her children, Blease Brown, Prophetess Casino E. Rolle, Kenneth Rolle, Sr.,  Jessie Lyles, Jr., LeVar (Trina) A. Lyles, Arthur (Tomeaco) J. Lyles, and Robert (Connie) Lee Williams; grandchildren, Louis Rolle, Lakita Rolle, Derita Capers, Kenyetta Rolle, Kenneth Rolle, Jr. (Jasmine),  Jessica Mayers, Alesia Dunlap Lyles, Arthur J. Canada, Jordan Lyles, Ariona Lyles, Alissia Key, Samaria Lyles, Siyona Lyles, Tayonna English, and Ameka Williams; great-great grandchildren, Miyah (Tario) Rolle, Omari J. Rolle, Keon Rolle, Samara Makayla, Layla Rolle, Carlie Lyles, Kenneth Rolle, III, Jade Rolle, Jaden Rolle, and Anethria Mayers; sister, Casino (Charles) McCoy; nephews, Dennis Haigler, George Bowman, Jr., Butch Bowman; nieces, Latonya Haigler, and Cherese Haigler; extended family, Louis Bellinger, Sr., Althea Dunlap, Hubert Hill, Denise Greer, Lillie Praylow, and Stacie Rolle.
