Junnie Mae Richardson Obituary

Ms. Junnie Mae Richardson of 163 Nathan Ridge Lane was born February 9, 1949, to William Nathan, Jr. and Rebecca Scott Nathan. Junnie Mae departed this earthly life and entered into her eternal life on April 5, 2019, at her home surrounded by her family.

Junnie Mae was a 1967 graduate of Hopkins High School. Upon graduating from high school, Junnie Mae attended nursing school and worked as an LPN for five years. Junnie Mae realized her real passion was cooking and planning meals, so she changed careers. She worked as a chef at the SC Department of Mental Health for over 30 years until she retired.

Junnie Mae joined the church at an early age. She was a proud member of St. Mark Baptist Church where she was a member of the Missionary Society and the Golden and Proud Senior Group.

Junnie Mae married the love of her life Mr. Albert Richardson, and they have shared 49 years of marital bliss. She has four loving sons and a granddaughter that she raised since birth.

Junnie Mae loved her family and her community. She also had a big love for life. One of Junnie Mae biggest loves was cooking. She loved cooking, and she enjoyed watching people eat the food and the meals she created.

Her love for her community was special. She wanted to make sure that no one was hungry or without the basic necessities. She always made sure that the children had school supplies for back to school, and if she noticed a child in need, she would make sure their needs were met.

Junnie Mae loved her community and the children in it that she deemed them as her grandchildren and treated them as such.

Junnie Mae was preceded in death by her parents, her grandson, James Edward Nathan, Jr.; brother, Joseph Nathan; and niece, LaTrese Gibson.

Junnie Mae is survived by her husband, Albert Richardson of the home; sons, John Henry (Tabitha) Nathan, James Edward (NaTashia) Nathan, both of Eastover, SC, Albert L (Shamekia) Richardson of Columbia, SC and Christopher L.
