Johnny “Earl” Blair was born in Kershaw County on March 7, 1958 to Eva Mae Blair and the late Freddie Blair of Bethune, South Carolina.
Earl was educated in the public-school system of Bethune, South Carolina. He graduated from Bethune High School in 1977. After graduation he entered into the Marine Corps for 9 years.
In 1986 he started his career as a full-time driver with the United Parcel Service (UPS). Earl was diligent and loyal to his career for 30 years.
Earl was a joy to be around and could bring fun and laughter to the rom like no other. His charismatic energy of life, care for people, and big ball of energy could brighten even the darkest room with his jokes, laughter, and talkative personality.
Earl was selfless, loving, and generous to everyone. He was also non-judgmental, delightful, and a compassionate person. He was a son, brother, and friend t many but a true hero to his children and grandchildren.
Earl was preceded in death by his father, Freddie Blair; and brother, Freddie Blair, Jr.
Left to cherish his loving memories are his children, Lavetta Blair, Earl Jay Blair, Byron Blair, and Lavor Wright; his mother, Eva Mae Blair of Bishopville, SC; siblings, Dorothy (Sandy) Walthour of Brooklyn, NY, Dorothy (Grant) Patterson of Camden, SC, David Lee (Pastor Linda) Blair of Bethune, SC, Elder Shirley B. Graham of Hartsville, SC, Sandra (David) Wiley of Bishopville, SC, Eva Blair Valentine of Bethune, SC, Margie (Richard) Perkins of Hartsville, SC, and Emanuel Blair of Charlotte, NC; uncles, Fred (Linda) Spence, Bobby Clark, Barry (Maxine) Clark; grandchildren, Tilah Blair, Elijah Blair, Tyson McBride, Savvy Blair, Fallyn Monroe Blair, Yamani Wright, and Kaleya Wright; and a host nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends he loved dearly.
