John Wesly Simons

John Wesly Simons, affectionately known as “JW,” transitioned to be with Lord on Saturday June 29, 2019 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia SC. John was born on February 24th in Elgin SC to the late Herbert Simons and Hattie Robinson Simons. John was educated in Kershaw County schools.

John was employed by the SC Department of Mental Health and Fort Jackson Food Services where he retired in 2017. John loved to read God’s word and never hesitated to share God’s word to everyone who would listen.

John leaves to cherish his loving memory seven sisters, Bernice Simons, Washington DC; Hattie S. Carolina, Columbia South Carolina; Shirley Turner, Columbia South Carolina; Ruby Johnson, Washington DC; Joeretha Gibbs, Columbia South Carolina and Ruth Simons, Columbia South Carolina. Also, three brothers, Rev. Willie Simons (Patricia Simons), Columbia South Carolina, Terry Simons, Columbia South Carolina, and Rev. Edward Robinson (Geraldine Robinson), Pittsburgh Pennsylvania; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
