Ms. Joan B. Miller was born September 22, 1942 in Columbia, South Carolina. She was the beloved daughter of the late Charles Kinard and Carrie Bookert Robinson. She departed this earthly life on Wednesday, October 4, 2017.

Growing up in Columbia, Joan was a proud graduate of C.A. Johnson High School. “Mamo”, as she was affectionately known, was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Although she is no longer physically with us, her love and kind spirit will forever live in our hearts and in the lives of those who loved and knew her.

She was a hard worker who worked various jobs during her lifetime. Three of the more remembered were Shands Hospital, National Linen and the Midlands Center.

In addition to her parents, Joan was also predeceased by a daughter, Antoinette Williams, and siblings: General Robinson and Gerald and Charles Kinard.

Joan leaves to cherish her memories a devoted daughter, Cynthia L. (Rosevelt) Isreal of Minden, Louisiana, and a loving son, Tyrus (Deneen) Miller of Columbia, South Carolina; her siblings: Gwendolyn Robinson, Dessie Robinson, Annie Pearl Curtis, Shirley Edmonds, Dorothy Etienne and Charles Nattiel, all of Florida, Lois Ann Prince of Columbia, South Carolina, Larry, Gary, Janice and Christine Kinard, all of New York.
