Jermaine L. Dorrah was born August 30, 1972 in Columbia, Sc. He was born to Izola Gist and the late James Curtis Kirkland. Jermaine departed this life November 15, 2018.
Jermaine attended schools in Columbia, SC, graduating from Columbia High School in 1990. Following high school, Jermaine had a desire to serve his country so he enlisted in the United States Navy. He served for four years then returned home and worked for SMI Steel as a welder for many years. After an illness that prevented him from working, he decided to further his education at Strayer University. Jermaine enjoyed working and staying busy so he worked a few part time jobs. He most recently worked at Lowe’s Foods on Forest Drive. He loved his job, his coworkers, and managers. He was excited about learning how to prepare different food items. Jermaine was a good father, loved his sons, a great brother, and beloved son and uncle.
Jermaine was preceded in death by his father, James Curtis Kirkland, and his grandfather, Reverend George W. Dorrah Jr.
Jermaine leaves to cherish his precious memories, his mother, Izola Gist of Irmo, SC; his sons, Dominque Dorrah and Breon Jones both of Irmo, SC; his grandparents, Ester Dorrah, Florence (J.T) Kirkland; sisters, Lesley (Nick) Coleman, Faith Burton, Erica Geiger; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
