Mr. Jackie E. White, sometimes known as “Jack”, departed this life on Friday, August 4, 2017 at the Palmetto Health Baptist Hospital. Jackie was born on March 17, 1959 in Sumter, South Carolina to the late Thomas Pringle and the late Rachel White Butler.

Jackie attended the public schools of Sumter County. He was a proud graduate of Sumter High School’s class of 1978. Following graduation from High School he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving his country from 1978-1982. He went on to receive an Associate’s degree from the University of Phoenix. Jackie was a hardworking man, employed by the Dept. of Juvenile Justice, South Carolina Fire Academy, and recently with Allied Universal security. He loved and took great pride in cooking and preparing food for anyone who requested his services. He was best known for his popular “Flap Jack’s Boilin’ Peanuts”.

Jackie had a bright smile that could light up the room. He was a soft spoken man of few words, who spoke plain and clear but meant everything he said. He never changed for anyone, so what you saw was what you got. He was always there for his family and friends ready to help in any way. Even through his illness he remained high spirited and hardly ever complained about his pain. To know Jackie was to love him!

Precious memories of Jackie will be cherished by two daughters, Jacqueline Williams and Kenya Latrice White of Greenwood, South Carolina; three siblings that reside in Florida; two cousins who were raised like siblings, Francis Rashell Davis and George Lamont Davis, both of Sumter, South Carolina; along with many other cousins, loving relatives and dear friends that are deeply grieved by his passing. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, two uncles, and three aunts, all of Sumter, South Carolina.
