Mrs. Hattie T. Wages was the daughter of the late Mrs. Thelma B.C. Thompson and Mr. Lestor Cornelius. Mrs. Wages was born on July 26, 1943 in Columbia, SC. She departed this life on October 31, 2018.
At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Zion Pilgrim Baptist Church. In 1965, she met the love of her life, Mr. Joseph Wages. They were joined in holy matrimony in 1971.
Mrs. Wages was educated in the public school system. She worked at Liberty Gas Station with her husband and later at A1-Haulers. She was employed at Allen University and Benedict College. Mrs. Hattie also worked as a home health aid, a child care provider and as a homemaker.
Mrs. Hattie was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Ms. Darlene Felita Cornelius; brothers, Freddie Sr. and Coley Jr.; sisters, Doris and Fannie; and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Cornelius.
She is survived by her loving husband, Joseph Wages, her stepdaughter, Joanne (Michael) Boyles, her step-granddaughter, Britton (Kelvin) Jenkins, her granddaughters, Wymisha (Daryl) Harrell Baker and Johnetta Jenkins, her great-grandchildren, Danaih Jones, Kayden Jenkins, Daryl Jones, III, Kamryn Jenkins, and Daryl Baker, Jr.; her sisters, Linda (Charles) Cornelius, Angela (James) Ladson, and Judy (Tony) Mack; Her brothers, Willie (Fristella) Cornelius, Tommy (Vera) Cornelius, and James (Mary) Cornelius; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and other family and friends who all truly loved her and will miss her dearly.
