Mr. Freddie Lee Hart was born on April 17, 1952 in Columbia, South Carolina to the late John Henry Hart and Bessie Mae Sims Hart. He departed this life for eternal life with the Lord early Tuesday morning, 28 May 2019 at the Providence Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina.
Mr. Hart was educated in the Richland County School District, attending Booker T. Washington High School. During his early years, he worked in various occupations, but his main interest and passion was working in the painting and construction industry. He was a truly a gifted carpenter and painter. “Big Jeek,” as he was affectionately named by his late oldest sister, Doris, enjoyed weight lifting, singing, and just hanging out with family in his spare time.
Mr. Hart is preceded in death by a son, the late Anthony Prophet; three brothers, the late Thomas E. Hart, Willie B. Hart, and John Henry Hart Jr.; three sisters, the late Doris E. Warren-Etheridge, Mary M. Mayo, and Earnestine L. Williams.
After valiantly battling his illness, God saw fit to call Freddie home from labor to reward. He was a quiet, but strong man who loved his family and enjoyed life in spite of his circumstance. Mr. Hart leaves to cherish his beautiful and indomitable spirit eight children/step children: Freddie L. Prophet, Larry Prophet (Sonya), Freddie L. Hart Jr. (Amy), Jasinmond Frierson (stepson), Janeka Frierson, Haracio Davis, and Tashara Heyward (Darius) (stepdaughter); seventeen grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mattie L. Middleton (the late Paul), Barbara A. Ruff (Willie), Bessie W. Carver (Dwarn), and Patricia A. Nichols (Kevin); two brothers, Teddy B. Hart (Wendy) and Larry L. Hart (Wanda); brother-in-laws, John W. Mayo (late Mary) and Grant Williams (late Earnestine); and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
