Mother Fannie Mae Goodwin Nixon was born March 16, 1925 in Congaree, SC to the late Lloyd and Annie Goodwin. She departed this life November 15, 2018 at Palmetto Health Baptist in Columbia, SC.
Mother Fannie Nixon accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of St. Matthews Baptist Church. She later joined Miracle Faith Christian Center, where she served as a mother of the church faithfully. Fannie attended Congaree School in Richland County. She was a faithful housekeeper. Her hobbies were fishing, watching TV, reading the bible, cooking, and singing the gospel.
Mother Nixon was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Trustee George Nixon Sr., and her brothers, Eddie Goodwin, Robert Goodwin, Lloyd Goodwin, and Joseph Goodwin, and sisters, Lena Brown, and Sarah Goodwin.
Mother Fannie Mae Goodwin Nixon leaves to cherish her memories, ten children Janie Mae Washington, Shirley Ann Robinson, George Nixon Jr., Joe (Rosa) Garner, David (Verdell) Nixon, Tommy (Loretta) Nixon, Janet Simon, Dr. Deloris (Dr. Alonzo) Ward, Ronald Nixon, and Patrick Nixon; sister, Rebecca Higgins; 28 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews, and many other loving relatives.
