Cremation

Earl Alexander Eaddy was born March 20, 1958 in Florence, South Carolina to Jesse Eaddy and the late Inez Wilson Eaddy. He departed this life on Wednesday, November 1, 2017.

Earl started his education in Florence County, graduating from Wilson High School, Class of 1976. His activities included being a pitcher on the little league team which went on to win the championship; playing trumpet on the band; and playing basketball in the community centers. Earl continued his education at South Carolina State University, marching in “The 101” band, and at Clemson University. Earl was also an avid sports fan who loved his New York Giants and Clemson Tigers!

On October 17, 1987, Earl was joined in Holy Matrimony to his friend of 30 years and the love of his life, Alesia Clark-Eaddy. Their union was blessed with their jewels in life, two children: Allyssa and Alexis. He was a devoted husband, father, and Papa to his grandson, Ashton, who was his pride and joy.

For nearly 18 years, Earl was a dedicated employee at Lindau Chemicals, and for 15 years with United Parcel Service (UPS), where he received several awards for his unwavering service to the standards of the company. He cherished the friendships that he forged at these companies as well as those made at Anchor Continental.

Earl started his Christian journey in life with St. Peter Holiness Church and continued with his family at Bethel AME Church in Columbia, South Carolina. After Earl and his family joined Bethel AME, he began singing on the choir, which was one of his true loves — the music of the Lord.

He is survived by his wife, Alesia Clark-Eaddy; daughters: Allyssa (Antoine) Alewine and Alexis Danyelle Eaddy, both of Columbia, South Carolina; a grandson, Ashton “Boogie” Alewine of Columbia, South Carolina; his father, Jesse Eaddy of Florence, South Carolina; and five brothers: Victor (Yvette) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Reuben of Florence, South Carolina, Kenneth (Pauletta) of Pensacola, Florida, Phillip (Marguerite) of Lawrenceville, Georgia, and Robert (Jackie) Eaddy of Spring Valley, New York. He is also survived by four aunts: Shirley Jackson of New York, Rebecca (Don) Fikes of Maryland, Marian (Joe) Hannah and Juanita Scott of South Carolina; one uncle, Calvin (Pontheola) Wilson of South Carolina; three nieces: Victoria, Quantasha and Shanette, and six nephews: Nicholas, Samuel, Ceasare, Andre, Lashaun, and Connor; one grandnephew, Ohaji; four sisters-in-law: Patricia Clark of Charleston, South Carolina, Drusilla Clark-Addison of Goose Creek, South Carolina, Donna (Dwayne) Weldon of Forestville, Maryland, and Jacquetta Clark of Charleston, South Carolina; two lifelong friends, Terry (Delores) Dingle and Robert (Kim) Gordon; as well as other loving relatives and dear friends.
