Mrs. Dorothy Delores Weston Bing affectionately known as “Dot” was born August 13, 1940 in Columbia, South Carolina. She was the second eldest child of the late Levion and Lucille Weston. She was called home to eternal peace on July 28, 2019.
Dot attended public school in Richland County School District One where she returned and obtained her GED in 1970. She was employed as a cook for Pierce Terrace Elementary School. She worked for Ft. Jackson school services for fifteen years and later retired due to the onset of disabilities due to diabetes. She fought a good fight for a long time while God carried her.
Dot was baptized in her early age and later joined First Nazareth Baptist Church. She was a vibrant and virtuous woman. God was her best friend.
Dot was preceded in death by her loving parents, Levion and Lucille Weston Sr.; daughter, Sandra Weston Perkins, brothers, Peter Weston Sr., and Levion Weston Jr., and five loving nephews.
Dorothy D. Bing leaves to cherish her everlasting loving memories: her children, Brenda (Heyward Jr.) Mack, Jonathan (Elaine) Weston, Gregory Weston, and William Bing Jr., all of Columbia, South Carolina; nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, sisters: Ernestine Anderson, Wilhemenia Weston, Rosena Jones, Marilyn (Julius) Wardley, Patricia Weston; brothers: Joseph (Cheryl) Weston Sr., Jerome Weston, Furman Weston, Arnold (Gloria) Baskett; sister-in-law, Jean Carolyn Weston, son-in-law, Leon Perkins and a host of nieces, nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews, and a special person in her life, Mrs. Wendy Kelly.
