Mrs. Cynthia Mae W. Prioleau, daughter of the late Henry and Alice P. Wigfall, was born June 30, 1947 in Cross, South Carolina. She transitioned from this life on July 2, 2017, at the Palmetto Richland Heart Hospital of Columbia SC.

Cynthia, “Thea” as many knew her, was educated in the public schools of Berkeley County and was a graduate of Central High School of Cross, South Carolina.

At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Saviour and joined Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. After graduating High school she relocated to New York City, NY where she worked and lived a full life; then later joined First Baptist Church where she was a dedicated and devoted member. On March 30, 1990 she was joined in Holy Matrimony to Fletcher Prioleau. Upon relocating back to South Carolina and moving to Irmo, SC, she became a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where she happily served in the church nursery.

Cynthia, was preceded in death by her parents Henry & Alice P. Wigfall; five brothers, Henry, Richard, Isaac, James and Harry L. Wigfall, Sr.

Cynthia, was such a kind, gentle, and quiet person. She enjoyed children and later became an in-home childcare provider. The families she served accepted her as just that “family” as they loved on “Thea” and “Thea” loved on them. Each of the families held a special place in her heart.

Cynthia, leaves to cherish her memories: a devoted and dedicated husband, Fletcher Prioleau of the home; one son, Rodney Wigfall, of Columbia, SC; one stepson Keith Prioleau of Southern, CT; one stepdaughter, Cassandra Prioleau of Washington, D.C.; five sisters, Pearl W. Johnson of St. Stephens, SC, Delores Walley of Eutawville, SC; Geneva W. Brown of Cross, SC; and Deborah (Kevin) McCarty of Orangeburg, SC; three brothers, Fred (Christine) Wigfall of North Myrtle Beach, SC; Arthur Wigfall of Cross, SC; and Charles Prioleau of Lithonia, GA; seven sister-in-law, Shirley S. Wigfall of Cross, SC; Louise B. Wigfall of Bronx, NY; Brenda D. Wigfall of Cross, SC;  Earnestine (George) McCray of Pineville, SC; Ida Prioleau of Washington D. C.; Johnnie Mae Pinckney of Washington D. C.; and  Lucille Prioleau of Stratford, CT; one brother-in-law, Robert L. Prioleau of Southern, CT; a special granddaughter, Brittany Adams and  a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
