Christer Washington Harth

Christer W. Harth was born June 27, 1929 in Orangeburg, South Carolina to the late William and Inze Salley Washington. She departed this life on January 15, 2020 at Prisma Health Richland.

Christer attended the public schools of Orangeburg County. Christer was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church and served faithfully for many years. She will be remembered for her 37 years of service as a production worker at Columbia Farm.

Christer was married to Alton D. Harth, Sr. who preceded her in death. She raised 9 children two of which preceded her in death, Beverly Harth and Azalee Harth.

Left to cherish her memories are Alton (Jackie Kelly) Harth of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Ben Harth, Machelle H. Thomas, Clinton Harth, Glenda Harth, June Harth, and Stanley Harth all of Columbia, SC; 18 grandchildren, 32 great-granchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren; one brother, Willie (Ann) Washington of Avon Park, FL; one sister, Karen Stevenson of Columbia, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends who all will miss her dearly.
