Ms. Carol Ann Sims Cooper was born December 17, 1944 in Washington, DC. She was the youngest of the late James Sims and the late Tressie Sims. She departed this life Monday, May 20, 2019.
She was educated in the public schools of New York, New York and graduated from Mable Dean Bacon, class of 1962. She was a loving wife and devoted mother, who would move mountains for her kids. She mastered the Fastening Industry, owning two self-made businesses (Hustle Srew Co. & K&K Screw Company).
Carol, better known as Mickey to family and friends, was an awesome, understanding, loving, caring mom and the pure definition of a real friend. Mickey was always the go-to person to talk to and will hold your secrets forever.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie F. Johnson, Jr.; her mother and father James and Tressie Sims; one brother, Jhune Sims; and two sister, Joyce Sims McHolder and Annette Sims.
Ms. Carol Ann Sims Cooper leaves to mourn in her passing: a daughter, Kisha Johnson of Charlotte, NC; a son, Keith Johnson of Charlotte, NC; five grandchildren, Star-Quazia Johnson, Jimeese Powell, Kahali Johnson, Taknowledge Butler (Tyna Long), and Karole M. Johnson (unborn); three great grandchildren, Kingston Cornelius, Katelynn and Karlie Cornelius; four wonderful aunts, Mary Kinard (her rock), Julia Brady, Mattie Sulton, and Tressie Hopkins; and a host of loving relatives and caring friends all of whom will miss her dearly.
