Carnell Williams, Sr.
April 10, 1943 ~ October 9, 2017 (age 74) 74 Years OldMr. Carnell Williams, Sr. was born April 10, 1943 in Kingsville, South Carolina. He was the beloved son of the late Ivey Clay and Ethel G. Williams. He departed this life on Monday, October 9, 2017 at Providence Health in Columbia, South Carolina.
Carnell was baptized by the late Reverend H.M. Taylor. He was a member of Bible Way Temple of Faith Church in Gadsden, South Carolina. Carnell attended the public schools of Richland County, graduating from Webber High School. Carnell worked at Pacific Mills and at First Baptist Church of Columbia.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Rosa Lee Lowman. To this union, three sons were born. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Nicholas, and sister, Margaret Williams.
Those left to mourn his passing are his devoted wife, Julia Smith Williams; two sons, Melvin and Carnell Jr. (Monica); four grandchildren: Melvin Jr., Jalen, Kaylyn, and Charnell; and two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bessie D. Joyner of Chester, South Carolina and Carrie Lee W. (Paul) Brown of New York, New York; two brothers, Lewis Williams of Kingsville, South Carolina and A.P. Williams of Los Angeles, California; and two aunts, Ada Ruth Hopkins and Earline Williams. He also leaves his sisters-in-law, Mary Barber, Martha Smith, Estelle Young, Daisy (Robert) Sumter, Annie Belton, and Carrie Mae Williams; brothers-in-law: Tony (Patricia), Sam (Charlene), and Basil Lowman; and other loving relatives and dear friends.
