Brian Harvey Obituary

Born in Columbia, SC on December 18, 1957, Brian Randall Harvey was the youngest of three sons to Miriam Eunice Roberts Harvey and Kelly Miller Harvey Sr. The family resided in the Waverly community on Heidt St, where Brian spent half of his life. Separated by only a year, Brian was very close to his older brother Greg, a bond that grew stronger after the loss of their mother in 1965.

In the early 90's Brian became a resident at Kensington 1 Facility, ran by the Babcock Center (now Chesco Services), following the passing of his father. With his strong personality, Brian enamored those at the facility as they became his second family. As he had enjoyed car rides with his father and brothers, Brian would take joy in traveling in the facility van to and from the programs and workshops. He'd often express his fondness of staff members and his best friend Billy, with whom he spent time with sitting outside enjoying nature and watching deer that wandered near the facility. He'd let it be known that he liked dressing nicely and showed his appreciation for gospel and jazz, and food. Brian very much loved food.

On August 15, 2018, Brian Randall Harvey passed, He leaves behind four nephews, two grand-nieces, and two grand-nephews. He was preceded by his brothers, Kelly Miller Harvey Jr. in 2016 and William Gregory Harvey who, until his death in 1996, would regularly travel from Charleston to Columbia to visit with his little brother.
