Bobby R. Hargrove was born December 20, 1961 in Newark, New Jersey to the late Enoch and Viola Hargrove. He departed his life on July 11, 2019 in the peace of his own home in Columbia, SC.
He spent most of his life in Newark, NJ. He was a star football player at Barringer High School. He was a school bus driver and mechanic for 20 years at the Star Shuttle Bus Company in Newark, NJ. Bobby relocated to Columbia, SC where he volunteered at a local church and soup kitchen serving the homeless.
Bobby was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and great friend.
Bobby enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, teaching life lessons, cooking, and listening to old school music. He loved his family and friends.
He has now joined eternity with his parents, Enoch and Viola Hargrove; two sisters, Elloise Hargrove and Dorren Hargrove; a brother, Rickey Hill; and a grandson, Alijah E. Walters.
He leaves to cherish his memory, seven children, Antwian (AKA Earl) (Bambi) Walters, Dwayne (Starr) Walters, Tonya Walters, Robin Walters, Nichola Walters, Jarrell Walters, and Daren Walters; five grandchildren, Isaiah and Isaac Gibbs, and Amayiah, Alaiyah, and Sariyah; two sisters, Vinell Watson and Patricia Caldwell both of Columbia, SC; one brother, Harold Caldwell of Columbia, SC; the mother of all of his children, Stephanie Walters; a very special aunt, Margaret Fenty; two uncles, Ellis Taylor and Gordon Fenty all of Irvington, NJ; one sister-in-law, Debra Toney Hill of Newark, NJ; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends who all will miss him very much.
