Betty J Gilmore

Betty Jean Gilmore was born March 21, 1962, in Columbia, SC to Louise W. Gilmore and Joe Gilmore. Betty departed this life on Monday, December 31, 2018, at Palmetto Health Baptist Hospital.

Betty also known as Betty Boo was educated in the public schools of Richland County. She has a heart of gold, always full of life and laughter. Betty always loved to have a good time and she always made sure everyone ate. She loved all of her kids and grandchildren dearly and John Boy has a special place in her heart.

Betty was preceded in death by her mother and father, Joe and Louise Gilmore, her youngest son, Willie A. Gilmore, her brothers, James and Charles Gilmore, and her sister, Patricia Gilmore. 

Betty is survived by her husband, Arthur Jenkins; five children, Charles Gilmore, Anthony (April) Gilmore, Jonathan Brice, Arthur Brice, and Tabitha (Coby) Rivers, all of Columbia; three sisters, Helen (Frank) Hodo of Avon Park, FL, Louise (Bernard) Graham of Lake City, FL, and Joe Ann Gilmore-Grissett of Columbia, SC; one brother, Herbert Gilmore of Columbia, SC; eight grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends all of whom will miss her dearly.
