Artie Scott Obituary

Artie was born January 4, 1941 in (Calhoun County) St. Matthews, South Carolina. He was the beloved first son of S. B. Switzer and Geneva Ervin. He departed this life Sunday, September 2, 2018.

Artie was educated in the public-school system of Calhoun County. He was employed many years with Thomas and Howard as a truck driver. Thereafter, he was self-employed with Blue Ribbon Taxi Cab Company for over 40 years.  Known as an affectionate peace maker supported by scripture; he also served as a Stock Holder, Board Member, and Chaplin for the Blue-Ribbon Taxi Company.

Artie joined Bible Way Church of Atlas Rd in 1981 and served in many capacities with numerous ministries.  He was a faithful member during his illness and until his passing.  One of his greatest accomplishments was being ordained as a Deacon.  He was honored that the Lord called him for this position, and he valued the brotherhood shared with his fellow Deacons.

Artie was proceeded in death by his father S. B. Switzer; mother Geneva Ervin; grandson Foster Stanley Morris II; brothers Willie Ervin, Henry and Dennis Scott; and sisters Gloria Smith and Gayle Ervin.
