Archie Washington, III

Archie Washington III, son of Archie and Mary Washington, was born June 23, 1963 in Columbia, South Carolina. In the early morning of Tuesday, June 4, 2019, he answered God’s call and peacefully flew away with the Angels into sweet eternal rest.

Archie attended the public schools of Richland One School District where he was a 1981 graduate of Dreher High School.

He was a member of Brown Chapel AME Church where he received and accepted Christ at an early age.

He lived his life to the fullest. He was not a stranger to anyone. He cherished spending time with his family and friends, enjoyed fishing, and helping those in need. Although he held other jobs, he was last employed as a dedicated employee with the University of South Carolina. To know him was to love him.

Archie Washington, III, leaves to cherish fond precious memories: his beloved parents, Archie (Mary) Washington, of Columbia, SC; the love of his life his son, Jamael Washington, of Sacramento, CA; a granddaughter, Londynn Washington, of Columbia, SC; one brother, Michael (Zimmie) Washington, of Loris, SC; two sisters, Lisa Sutton and Celia (Lonnie) Nesbitt, both of Columbia, SC; two nieces, Jasmine Washington and Amber Sutton, both of Columbia, SC; nephew, Lonnie (Zakiya) Nesbitt, Clermont, FL; aunts and uncles, of Columbia, SC, a special cousin, Novetta Henton; a host of other loving relatives and caring friends, all of whom will cherish his memories forever.
