April Latham was born May 7th, 1960 in Richland, South Carolina to the late Mrs. Queen E. King. Our beautiful April was called home to be with the Lord on August 8th, 2018.
As a lifelong resident of Blythewood, South Carolina, April was educated in the Public School System of Richland County District II.
April, a loving and caring mother, put all of her love and compassion into raising her sons Isaac and Shannon, both of whom made her extremely proud to be their mom. In 2001, April met Howard Latham and in 2000 they were married. April and Howard loved and enjoyed each other very much. Sure, April and Howard had disagreements, but they always worked them out and remained committed to loving each other.
April’s passion has always been to provide a nice comfortable home for family and she was always cooking and cleaning to keep her home in an immaculate state. April loved to see new things and places and she has always been amazed at the beauty and wonder of the natural outdoors. April also loved to dance; dancing was one of her most joyful activities and that was most apparent from her glowing smile when she began to cut-a-rug.
April is proceeded in death by her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Ora Dixon, Sr.; her mother, Queen E. King; and her sister, Audrey “Too-Too” Haynes. April is survived by her devoted husband Howard Latham; two sons Isaac Cornelious and Shannon (Darla) Cornelious; two stepsons Patrick and Joseph; one stepdaughter Heather; two sisters Shianne Walker-Lake and Roshell Suber; four brothers Jonathan Haynes, Criss (Freida) Mitchell, Roosvelt Mitchell and Kevin Haynes; a host of beloved nieces and nephews; and the joy of April’s life, her granddaughter Layla Cornelius, daughter of Shannon and Darla Cornelius.
