Mrs. Alberta Car Brown was born in Cayce, SC on July 23, 1924 to the late Trudel Car and Ellen Hunter. She transitioned from this earthly life on February 24, 2019 at her home in Cayce, SC.
Mrs. Brown was raised by her aunt and uncle Jessie and Clyde Henderson after losing her mother at a young age. Mrs. Brown attended schools in the Lexington County public school system.
Mrs. Brown married the love of her life, the late Mr. Willie Eugene Brown on September 17, 1954. Their marriage was full of love and joy. Mrs. Brown took pride in caring for her husband, children, and home.
Mrs. Brown was a very attentive and loving mother and grandmother. Not only did she raise her children, but she had a hand in raising the children of the community.
Mrs. Brown was an active member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Senior Usher Board and the Kitchen Committee.
Mrs. Brown enjoyed cooking, yard work, watching soap operas and shopping networks. She was also an avid wrestling fan. Mrs. Brown was a recipient of the 2019 Henry Lee Owens award.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Willie Brown and her daughter Patricia Ann Brown-Thompson.
Mrs. Brown was truly loved by her family. She leaves to mourn her passing, her children, two daughters, Alfredia (Special Son, Jerry) Christian, and Denise Brown, both of Cayce, SC; one son, John Willie Brown of Cayce, SC; two granddaughters, Farrah (Chris) Burgess and Joy Christian, both of Cayce, SC; one grandson, Kristopher Christian of Cayce, SC; one great granddaughter, Eriqa Edwards of Cayce, SC; special daughters, Marie Brown of Cayce, SC and Roseanne Leysath of Columbia, SC; son-in-law, Frank Thompson of Columbia, SC; two sisters, Frances Jackson and Gladys Perry both of Cayce, SC; nine sisters-in-love, Annie Mildred Brown, Terri Ann Brown, Shaye Irons, Betty Brown and Mryna Brown all of Cayce, SC, Henrietta Brown of Elgin, SC, Deloise Brown of Columbia, SC, Frances Brown of Tampa, FL and Willanne Thorpe of Fayetteville, NC; three brothers-in-love RV Brown of Tampa, FL, Terry Brown of Elgin, SC, and Charlie Thrope of Fayetteville, NC; and a host of family and friends who will miss her dearly..
