Leonard Marvin "Tramp" Bland was born on May 22, 1955, in Columbia, South Carolina, and was one of three sons born to the late Elijah Bland, Sr. and Marie Jackson Bland. He departed this earthly life to accept his heavenly wings on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at the Dom Veterans Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina.
Leonard was reared in the Edisto Court Community in Columbia, South Carolina and attended school at Booker T. Washington, in Richland School District One.
Leonard enlisted into the United States Army in 1974 and faithfully served his county for three years. After being Honorably Discharged from the military, Leonard was united in Holy Matrimony to the former Roslyn Glymph.
He worked at numerous hotels in the Columbia area for many years.
Leonard was affectionately known as "Tramp" by his family and close friends. He loved to tell jokes and make others laugh. He was a passionate person and was always willing to help others. An avid Pittsburg Steeler and South Carolina Gamecock fan, Leonard loved his family and had a special place in his heart for his nephews and nieces.
In addition to his parents, Leonard was preceded in death by his wife, Roslyn Glymph Bland; brother, Elijah Bland, Jr.; sister, Fannie Bland Goodwin; brothers-in-law, Pastor Samuel Goodwin and Ernest Green, nephew Damien Jackson
Leonard's fond and precious memory will forever be cherished by his brother, Michael (Tonya) Bland of Columbia, South Carolina; sisters, Dorothy (Waddell) Gibson of West Columbia, South Carolina, Helen Green and Venita Bland of Columbia, South Carolina; daughter, Anntroya Glymph of Columbia, South Carolina; and one son of Columbia, South Carolina; his companion, Anjlete Joyner of Columbia, South Carolina; special nephew reared in the home, Johnny Bland; and a host of grands, nephews, nieces and other loving relatives and dear friends all of whom will dearly miss him.
